mattaMondo is a curated collection of one of a kind handmade pieces selected by matta’s founder and designer, Cristina Gitti while traveling.
Many of these mattaMondo pieces are made in various regions of Mexico and take between three weeks to three months to complete. Some regions focus on specific techniques or natural dyes composed of shells, indigo walnut, cochineal and tree bark.
We find it so inspiring to use nature's bounty to create clothing that becomes part of the fabric of our everyday lives. Our matta tribe hopes that seeing these gifts expands your consciousness. This expansion is at the root of everything we do - our process, our textiles, and our understanding of the culture and nature that surrounds us.
We hope you enjoy these handmade heirlooms made with a love that has no borders.
